The Fabulous Maid Offers Free Cleaning Services for Women Battling Cancer

Cleaning for a Reason

The Fabulous Maid, a Boston residential and commercial cleaning company serving all of Massachusetts, is donating 10 percent of its revenues to support free home cleaning services for women battling cancer. The Fabulous Maid has partnered with Cleaning for a Reason, a Texas-based non-profit organization and coalition of more than 1,200 cleaners across the U.S. and Canada. Cleaning for a Reason provides free maid services for women who have been diagnosed with cancer so they can focus on health, recovery and family time. Since its inception in 2006, the program has given a total of more than $5 million worth of free cleanings to at least 17,000 women. The Fabulous Maid’s mission is simply to make life a little bit easier for affected Massachusetts families during their times of need. Through internal and public donations, the company hopes to give four monthly cleaning sessions to at least 100 households in 2015. “I've always cleaned my own home. However, after my breast cancer diagnosis, I was no longer able to tackle my weekly house cleaning,” says cancer patient Mary Poor. “Through Cleaning for a Reason, I was connected with the Fabulous Maid. I feel very fortunate to have had them help me with my home; their cleaning services have been wonderful.” Manager Maria Perez points out that the Fabulous Maid’s efforts increase awareness not only of cancer, but also of the Cleaning for a Reason program. “We all know someone who has battled cancer and how stressful it is for the entire family,” Perez says. “Cleaning for a Reason allows us to help by enabling these families to have a clean home without the burden of chores and household duties. It puts everyone in a better frame of mind.” To learn more about and donate to the Fabulous Maid’s Cleaning for a Reason campaign, visit
